Through good times (like earning a college degree, getting married, and landing a TV deal) and bad times (like dropping out of college, getting divorced, and watching my TV deal disappear before my eyes), God was always with me to show me a door, either the way out of a tough situation or the way into something better.

“How Clean Do We Want Our House to Be?” My answer: “No one wants to live in a pigsty.” Chuck’s answer: “Define pigsty.” ... A little bit of mess meant that a house was lived in,

My kids have told me over the years about some other inappropriate things I said when I was too rattled and tired to see straight. For example, when Charlie was in middle school and we had the birds-and-the-bees chat, he asked, “How many times have you and Dad done it? Three times?” I said, “Well, whenever I needed grocery money.”

Dr. Phil once espoused, “People say, ‘Time heals all wounds.’…Time heals nothing. It’s what you do in that time.”

One night, Chuck and I were sitting at the kitchen table. I was just so frustrated and worried about it all. “Is everything going to be okay?” I asked. Chuck said, “Leanne, get a grip. Everything is okay.” “It’s not okay!” But it really was.

I think God removes people from your life who really don’t care about you to make room for people who do. ... “Don’t worry about people God removed from your life. He heard conversations you didn’t. He saw things you couldn’t and made moves you wouldn’t.”
